The NHS App works….Just not for rare disease patients.

Picture this: Multiple hospitals, dozens of specialists, a diagnosis most GPs have never heard of.

Now try fitting that into an app built for a single, linear care journey. That’s unfortunately the daily reality for rare disease patients.

The NHS App wasn’t built with them us mind, so it shows them an incomplete picture, in confusing terms, through a navigation flow that assumes literacy we often don’t have.

This isn’t a minor UX(User Experience ) gap, it’s exclusion by design.

We don’t need a “simpler” app, we simply need one that reflects how complex our care actually is.

If you work in digital health, when did rare disease patients last shape a product decision, rather than get added as an afterthought?
